Zach is a big aggressive, male elephant with the attitude to match. Here at EVT he is Mr Cool.
Arriving here on July 5th 2019 he has been retired from the logging Industry to spend the rest of his life living in grass fields and resting in the shade of our woodlands. Approximately one of third of 3770 elephants in captivity, in Thailand, work in the logging industry. Mostly they pull trees out to thin teak plantations and help clear rubber plantations for replanting. Typically they live on their own and are male.
